ABOUT ME
​ Hi!
I'm Jake, 32 as I write this and I'm currently living in Manchester looking for work either nearby or remotely.
My current role is a Senior Games Designer. I have quite a broad title as I dabble in multiple areas of Design, I see myself as a bit of a Swiss Army Knife.
My preferred area of Design is Level Design, it's what I enjoy the most. However, I'm highly experienced in Gameplay, AI/Hero Design.
My Design Journey started in 2012, when I started Computing in College and Left with a Triple Distinction*. After which, I went to Teesside University for 4 years, leaving with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Indie Games Development, a Pass in Games Develeopment Masters and also a period of time doing a Design Internship at Hippo Entertainment.
About 2 months after my Masters, I received a Job offer to start at EightPixelsSquare, formerly known as Eurocom, and I've been there ever since, although we've been aquired by Miniclip since and are now known as Miniclip Derby.
Originally I worked at the office in Derby, but since Covid I have worked from home full time.

As you can tell from my Portfolio, I have been working mostly on Shooters. This has been fine and I'd be open to keep working on Shooters, but my love for gaming is definitely more Fantasy focused... Baldurs Gate, Elden Ring, Lord of the Rings, World of Warcraft, Warhammer... Gimme!
